People’s Bank of Georgia Announces The Launch Of Visa PayWave Cards
People’s Bank of Georgia (“PBG”) today announced the launch of the first contactless Visa PayWave Cards in Georgia and CEMEA. PBG plans to issue several thousand Visa PayWave Cards and install up to 100 contactless payment terminals in the next few months. Initially the payment terminals will be installed at PSP, one of Georgia’s leading pharmacy chains. “We are pleased to be the first bank to have introduced this innovative product in our greater region. We hope that the new Visa PayWave Cards will become a widespread payment tool for our retail clients. Stay tuned for other technological innovations”, noted Lado Gurgenidze, Executive Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of PBG.
