First Card

Liberty's "First Card" is a banking product available to students aged 6–18. It lets young people use banking services independently, but in a safe environment, while giving parents a flexible digital space and tools to manage and control spending.

First Card includes:

  • A physical card — VISA Classic / Mastercard Standard, in four different designs; the student chooses their preferred card color.
  • A universal multi-currency account — GEL, USD, EUR and GBP.
  • A free SMS banking service — a notification on every transaction.

First Card benefits:

  • Pay independently in physical and online stores;
  • Withdraw cash from ATMs — within the set limit;
  • Add the card to a digital wallet;
  • Special cashback and partner offers;

Who can get a First Card?
A First Card is available to minors aged 6 to 18. The card can be ordered by one of the parents or a legal representative.
What does the First Card look like?
The card comes in four colors, and the student chooses their preferred one. Card type: VISA Classic / Mastercard Standard.

Back To School offers at cashback partners are available only with a Visa card, while the school-uniform offer can be used with either card type.
What are the benefits of the First Card?
The First Card lets the student carry out everyday operations independently, while giving the parent/legal representative the ability to control and manage spending.

The student can:
  • pay in physical and online stores;
  • withdraw cash from ATMs;
  • use cashback and partner offers;
  • add the card to a digital wallet.
How much does the First Card cost to make and maintain?
Issuing and maintaining the First Card is free. If the card is lost or damaged, replacing it is also free.
What tools does the parent have to manage the First Card?
The parent or legal representative can view and manage the First Card through their own mobile/internet bank.

The parent can:
  • check the account balance;
  • get a statement;
  • block/unblock the card;
  • reset the PIN;
  • change the card limits;
  • add funds to the account;
  • top up mobile balance.
Can the First Card be obtained remotely?
At this stage, the First Card can only be ordered and collected at Liberty Bank branches.
What documents are needed to get a First Card?
  • Under age 6–14 — birth certificate;
  • Under age 14–18 — birth certificate and a Georgian ID document or a foreign passport;
  • For a non-resident minor — a foreign passport and birth certificate, translated and certified accordingly.
Which currencies can the account be used in?
The First Card is linked to a multi-currency account that can be used in:
  • Georgian Lari (GEL);
  • US Dollar (USD);
  • Euro (EUR);
  • Pound Sterling (GBP).
How long is the First Card valid for?
The First Card is valid for 4 years.
How long does it take to produce the card?
  • In Tbilisi — 1 business day; (with express ordering before 12:30, the card is made the same day)
  • In the regions — 2 business days from the order.
Once the card is ready, the parent receives an SMS notification.
What are the First Card's payment and withdrawal limits?
The parent/legal representative can choose one of the following daily payment and withdrawal limits:
  • Payment — GEL 10 / Withdrawal — GEL 10;
  • Payment — GEL 30 / Withdrawal — GEL 10;
  • Payment — GEL 50 / Withdrawal — GEL 20;
  • Payment — GEL 100 / Withdrawal — GEL 50;
  • Payment — GEL 200 / Withdrawal — GEL 100;
  • Payment — GEL 300 / Withdrawal — GEL 150;
  • Payment — GEL 500 / Withdrawal — GEL 200;
  • Payment — GEL 700 / Withdrawal — GEL 300.
Limits apply to the equivalent amount in the respective currency.
Can the parent change the card limits?
Yes, the parent/legal representative can change the First Card's payment and withdrawal limits through internet bank and mobile bank.
Where can the First Card be used?
The First Card can be used in Georgia and abroad, at any POS terminal in a trade or service location, as well as in online stores (via e-commerce channels).

* For security, e-commerce payments trigger a 3D security code, which is received by the minor.
Can cash be withdrawn with the First Card?
Yes, cash can be withdrawn with the First Card via ATM, within the card's daily withdrawal limit.
Can a minor activate internet/mobile bank?
At this stage, internet/mobile bank activation is not available for minors.
If the minor turns 18 while using the card, can they still use it?
The First Card cannot be used by individuals over the age of 18.
Can a minor add the First Card to a digital Wallet?
Yes, the First Card can be added to a Wallet.
What should the user do if the card is lost?
If the card is lost, the parent or legal representative must immediately block it through internet/mobile bank or contact us at: 0322 555 500.
How is the First Card cancelled?
The First Card can be cancelled by the parent or legal representative during a visit to any Liberty Bank branch.
